Hence, The Victoria Cross (VC) was bestowed upon him and he became the first Indian Commissioned Officer receipeant of The Victoria Cross (VC).
1/21/1997	Delhi was the first city to use propane gas when 50 autorickshaws were started on trial basis.
11/19/1997	22 persons killed and 30 injured when car bomb explodes outside film studio in Jubilee Hills area of Hyderabad. The deceased include Eanadu TV crew of six people.
