7/10/1992	SROSS-C placed in orbit. Indian National Satellite (INSAT-2A), first indigenously-built satellite of second-generation INSAT series launched from Kourore. This is more operational multi-purpose communication and enhanced meteorology satellite. It is still in service.
10/1/1894	Sudhi Ranjan Das, Chief Justice of Supreme Court of India, was born in Calcutta.
