Mumbai, July 22 (IANS) Actors Shruti Marathe and Gaurav Ghatnekar have turned producers with a short film about negligent driving.

They will back the film, "Awareness on Negligent Driving", under their production house Black Coffee Productions, in association with Trauma Society of India.

"I believe this is an important step towards a safer society, keeping in view the statistics of fatalities that happen in India due to negligent driving," said Shruti, who has featured in Marathi films such as "Sanai Choughade" and "Teecha Baap Tyacha Baap".

Gaurav of "Kaay Re Rascalaa" fame is happy that Trauma Society of India has given them this opportunity.

The film will release on Independence Day this year.
