hello all.. recently I posted an add for selling a furniture item on this website. A buyer called himself John Frank offered to buy that. He was not local and mentioned he is relocating to Washington state.. And he thus build a false story that he wants to furnish his apartment before coming.. so a pick up guy will come to take the furniture.. and the catch was he was not interested to see the furniture for himself.. he forced me to take the payment by check, which I obviously refused. ever since he is troubling me on sms that he has already delivered the check and make sure I deposit it my account.. silly me.. I fell for his trick in the beginning and shared my address.. so he is now threatening that I must deposit the check and give him the furniture. I reported to police.. thankfully I was alarmed at right time...The police said these people are targeting Indians coz they are well to do.. and they are mostly overseas.. and can not be caught.. I have been hearing of craigs list scam.. but these scammers are now looking for innocent sellers on Indian websites too... So please be aware.. thanks.. hope this helps

I also had same experience , same person but diff. issue.... same phone number (424) 653 6630...but named was Anthony.....he wanted a nanny for his baby...but he didnt even care to see my place. It is very important for babysitting. He was just interested and forced me to give my full name and address. He was saying....he wants my address to receive a check from his company and then after he will pay me in cash. I was strange that I was constant telling him to come at my place first and then decide for taking care of his baby or not . But he is not interested to see the place or meet me. that I felt so okward. He was telling the story that he will move from L.A. . I asked more details then he gave me address of Texas. On Email he was saying he is going to move to LA and over the phone he was telling he coming from LA to Seattle. I asked about his apartment in Seattle then he gave me address of Texas. It felt scam to me and I stopped conversation with him. Beware Indians Please be careful before give your address and name to any strangers. thx
Had Similar experience.. I posted sublease advertisement in STL craigslist, Person mailed and told she is interested in subleasing the apt she is currently in europe so cant come and check apartment, She will send cheque for two month rent, two days later I received cheque, and I noticed it is fake cheque, another guy called saying he is her manager(victoriawitman148###### - Login To See Contact Information
Looks like this is scammer, he is trying to buy items for the online posted items( house moving items sale), try to contact to buy items without any negotiation price, he will send invalid check (printed one), try to force you deposit, so that pickup guys will pick up from your home, he smartly add movers price to pay to the movers from that check.In general the check clearance took place anywhere between 10 to 2 months.. please do not fall into this scam.. he use jeffschum11###### - Login To See Contact Information

Hi, the scammer didnt contacted me through email. He mentioned his name John Frank, and his telephone number 424 653 6630. He didnt reply on community ad. He directly called. My phone number was mentioned In ad description.
